The owner of this beautiful colonial villa in Hua Hin wanted to take steps to reduce the noise levels as barking dogs and garbage disposal trucks were causing a disturbance in the very early hours of the morning. The challenge that we faced was to provide a solution that was still in keeping with the colonial style of the building.
The solution was to provide french doors and windows similar in appearance to the old wooden units but incorporating our new UPVC frames and double insulated glass to cut down on unwanted noise.Great care was needed to remove the old wooden frames as they were reversed nailed into the surrounding masonry. Another consideration was to limit the amount of dust as much as possible and to avoid any damage to the wooden floor. Protective screening was erected and floor protection was in place in order to avoid any damage. The end result was beautiful sets of doors and windows that blended in perfectly. Finished with a decorative Georgian bar to keep the styling the same as the rest of the property. This not only looked fantastic it significantly lowered the amount of noise that could be heard from outside of the building.
